Rebecca Halfon is a writer and director born and raised in New York City.
Her latest short, “Bodega,” had its World Premiere at South By Southwest, premiered online on Short of the Week, and was selected as a Vimeo Staff Pick. She has worked as a freelance producer and editor, and has a background in environmental advocacy. Before pursuing filmmaking, she worked as assistant to actor and activist Mark Ruffalo.
She is an alumna of Barnard College (2013), and the Graduate Directing Program at the School of Visual Arts (2018), where she was awarded the Paula Rhodes Memorial Award for Exceptional Achievement in Directing.
Her next project, a short comedy called “Esther,” is currently in pre-production.
